The National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) invited as a quest lecturer two years in a row for the “Capacity Building on the Hospital Management for National Children Medical Center in the Republic of Uzbekistan.” During the sessions, NHIS introduced Korea’s national health insurance system and NHIS’s Global cooperation efforts. NHIS also met with officials from the Ministry of Healthof Uzbekistan and the National Children’s Medical Center(NCMC) to exchange perspectives

The NHIS Global Forum 2025, held on June 11-12, brought together global and domestic experts in healthcare, welfare, and medical innovation, as well as international organizations, to explore the future of sustainable healthcare and discuss innovation in policy and services through big data and AI.

[NHIS-KOICA Tanzania Project ②] “NHIS-KOICA Holds Local Results-Sharing Workshop on Tanzania’s UHI Roadmap” picture

From April 10 to 11, the Workshop on Tanzania’s UHI Roadmap was held in Dodoma and Dar es Salaam. Tanzania. During the sessions, NHIS presented the mid-to long term roadmap for Tanzania’s national health insurance system to key government officials, including the Vice Minister of Health, and donor organizations. The workshops also served as a platform to explore future avenues for cooperation.

The National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) attended the Global Health Roundtable with Ambassadors in Korea, organized by the Korean Parliamentarian Forum on Global Health. Direct General Ms. Kyunghi Choi introduced the national health insurance system in Korea and NHIS’s global activities. At the Forum, the participants collectively explored international cooperation needs in the health sector and to enhance parliamentary partnerships and cooperations, between the diplomatic missions from African countries and the Korean National Assembly.

“NHIS-KOICA Conducts Invitational Capacity Building Program for Officials from Tanzania to Support the Implementation of Universal Health Insurance” The National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) conducted an invitational capacity building program for Tanzanian Health Officials, including representatives from the Ministry of Health and the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF). The program is part of the Quick-Development Experience Exchange Partnership (Q-DEEP) project under the NHIS-KOICA Tanzania Universal Health Insurance Implementation Support Project signed between NHIS and KOICA in October 2024. The program helped the Tanzanian participants enhance practical knowledge necessary for achieving Universal Health Care(UHC) by sharing Korea’s experiences through discussion-based lectures, field visits to NHIS branches and headquarters and Action Plan (AP) development.
